LIFE AT
THE OPERA

DOCUMENTARY | COME BACKSTAGE AT SWEDEN'S NATIONAL STAGE

PART 1. What happens at the Royal Swedish Opera - behind the curtain? Between 550 and 1000 people work here every year. There is a plethora of professional categories here - artistic staff of course but also everything from blacksmiths to naprapaths. There are (according to some sources...) 1000 rooms in the house! A very special atmosphere that culminates every night with the curtain call. Join SVT's documentary series from 2013 - welcome to Life at the Opera in five entertaining episodes!
In this first episode you meet the principal dancer Marie Lindqvist who is about to dance her last performance in the ballet Sleeping Beauty. You will also meet the chorus singer Jon Nilsson in his preparations for the premiere of the opera Turandot. And masseur Pirjo Lehmussalmi who faces many injuries after a long season.
